History shows that savagery is not limited to animals. Much of Europe and America grew wealthy through colonialism, slavery, exploitation, and resources taken from other peoples. The United States also expanded across Indigenous lands, taking territory and resources while displacing and persecuting Native American communities. Civilization means little when it is built on the suffering of others.
